This privacy policy explains how NHS Pay Check ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our website at https://www.nhspaycheck.co.uk. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting it in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What you type into the calculators

All calculations run in your web browser. We do notcollect, store or receive the salary, hours, tax, pension or other details you enter, and the site doesn't save them on your device.

Information we collect

  • Analytics: we use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host ourselves. It doesn't use cookies and records only aggregate information such as which pages are viewed, the referring site, browser, device type and country. We can't identify you from it.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider may briefly log IP addresses and requests for security and performance.
  • Email: if you email us, we keep your email address and message only to reply to you. We don't add you to any mailing list.
  • Advertising: Google may collect information through cookies when it shows adverts, as explained below.

Advertising and cookies

The site is funded by adverts served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Your choice.When you first visit from the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, a consent message from Google lets you accept or refuse advertising cookies. If you refuse, you may still see adverts, but they won't be personalised using cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy and cookie settings link on the page.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and from some other vendors at www.aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Apart from advertising, the site doesn't set cookies.

Third parties

  • Google AdSense: advertising, as above.
  • Our hosting provider: serves the site and may process server logs.

Fonts are served from our own domain, so loading the site doesn't send requests to a font provider. We don't sell or rent your data.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Objection: object to processing of your data
  • Portability: request your data in a portable format

Data Retention

  • Analytics data: aggregate only, kept for up to 24 months
  • Server logs: kept only as long as our hosting provider needs them for security and performance
  • Email correspondence: Retained for up to 12 months after your last message, then deleted

Children's Privacy

Our site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
